The IB Middle Years Programme
Curriculum
The content for each subject in our IB Middle Years Program (MYP) comes from the Japanese national curriculum and students are expected to master the skills and concepts of this curriculum. Teachers use the instructional framework of the MYP to help students see the interrelated nature of the various subject disciplines and how this knowledge can be applied to real world situations.Gyoshu Junior High School | Gyoshu Senior High School | ||

Students in the Bilingual Course learn through active inquiry and engage in research to investigate questions they identify during their course of study. They identify a problem, collect information, analyze the information, critically evaluate the information, and present their findings. Bilingual classes are interactive environments in which students collaborate in groups and pairs to share ideas and opinions. The added benefit for students in the Bilingual Course is that they are able to develop increasing levels of English proficiency as they acquire the skills and concepts of the national curriculum.
Each unit of work is carefully planned by the subject teacher or by a team of teachers working in collaboration. Teachers are guided by a common planning document stipulated by the MYP to help organize their instruction. Teachers in our program use a customized web-based curriculum management tool called the Atlas Rubicon where they record their units of study.
