| Symposium Overview |
|
The symposium integrates
three themes: 1) Immersion & Content-based EFL Instruction; 2) Early
English Language Education; 3) English Educational Reform in Japan
(K-College). This is a two-day event but participants may chose to
attend either or both days. Although the symposium has a very strong
emphasis on early English education, practicing teachers and researchers
from pre-school through college are welcome. |
|
|
|
The second day (Saturday,
Dec. 4) consists of several plenary talks on early English education,
immersion & content-based foreign language teaching, and factors
necessary for successful language classes in a Japanese context during
the morning session. The afternoon will include follow-up workshops on
these topics and a number of "break-out" sessions that focus on one of
the three themes of the symposium. The day will finish with a panel
discussion with some of the key presenters at the symposium addressing
each of the symposium themes. |

|
|
Simultaneous translation
(Japanese & English) will be provided for most of the plenary speeches,
and the final panel discussion on Saturday. Some of the workshops will
be conducted in English and some in Japanese. Contact one of the numbers
below to receive a free brochure or go to our home page for more
information and register on-line. |
