Why do we go to Iowa?
One of the main objectives of the trip is that we hope students will
come to understand what life is like in the United States and what it is
like to be a typical junior high student there. We want to provide
students with opportunities to communicate with native English speakers
their same age and we hope that they will take advantage of this
opportunity to improve they understanding and ability to speak in
English.
We also hope to instill a greater sense of independence, maturity and
self-confidence and that students will develop tolerance and respect for
differences by being immersed in another culture. We hope that students
will develop meaningful friendships with the other students they meet
and that their perspective of the world will be broaden by the
experience. We usually visit Iowa during the month of March. During the trip the
school will post photos of the students in Iowa on our website. Check at
the “International Exchange Page” in the “News and Events” section of
this website.
